Hail, Wind & Snow Damage Repair Done Right
STORM DAMAGE RESTORATION IN UTAH
Legacy Roofing inspects, documents, tarps, and restores storm-damaged roofs across the Wasatch Front, and works directly with your insurance carrier.
When the Storm Passes, Call Legacy First
Utah weather is no joke. Hail events out of the Wasatch, microbursts that rip across Davis and Weber counties, and the cumulative damage from heavy spring snow loads all leave roofs in conditions that range from cosmetically dinged to structurally compromised. After a storm, the right first call is to a roofing contractor. Not a public adjuster, not a storm chaser knocking on doors, but a licensed local roofer who can tell you what is actually wrong.
Legacy Roofing provides post-storm inspections with full photo documentation, measurements, and a written assessment. If your roof has sustained insurable damage, we prepare the documentation package your insurance carrier needs and, critically, we meet your adjuster on the roof. Most denied or under-scoped claims happen because the adjuster never saw the full picture. Our presence on the roof during inspection changes that dynamic.
If active leaks are present, we deploy emergency tarping the same day to stop secondary damage to insulation, drywall, and contents. Tarping is a temporary measure. Once your claim is approved, our W-2 crews execute a full restoration using GAF-certified materials.
A note on storm chasers: be cautious of unmarked trucks, out-of-state plates, and pressure to sign immediately after a storm. Legacy Roofing is a Utah-licensed, locally based GAF-certified contractor that will be here next year, and the year after, and for every warranty call in between.
OUR STORM RESPONSE PROCESS
Initial Damage Inspection
We inspect roof, gutters, fascia, and visible attic areas. Damage is photographed, measured, and documented in a written report.
Emergency Tarping (If Needed)
If water is actively entering the home, we install temporary tarps to stop interior damage while the claim moves forward.
Insurance Claim Filing Support
We provide the documentation package you need to file with your carrier and walk you through what to expect from the adjuster visit.
On-Roof Adjuster Meeting
We meet your insurance adjuster on the roof. Items often missed during a solo adjuster inspection are identified together.
Supplement Preparation
When the initial claim under-scopes the damage, we prepare a supplement with photos, code references, and material justification.
Full Restoration
Once approved, our W-2 crews execute the restoration using GAF-certified materials and document the finished work for your records.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
Common storm damage questions from Utah homeowners
Visible signs include missing or torn shingles, granule accumulation in gutters, dented metal vents or flashings, dimples in shingles (hail), and interior water staining. Much hail damage is not visible from the ground, so a professional inspection is the only reliable way to know.
If our inspection identifies insurable damage that exceeds your deductible, filing is usually in your interest. If the damage is below your deductible, filing is generally not worthwhile and we will tell you that.
Yes, and we strongly recommend it. Adjusters often miss damage that is obvious to a roofer. Our on-roof presence during inspection significantly improves claim outcomes.
Generally just your deductible, plus any upgrades you choose (such as moving from standard architectural to impact-resistant shingles). We provide a clear breakdown before any work begins.
Most insurance carriers require claims to be filed within 12 months of the loss event, but earlier is better. Damage worsens over time and late filings face additional scrutiny.
We strongly advise against signing anything with out-of-state contractors who go door-to-door after storms. Choose a licensed, locally based contractor who will be available for warranty calls years from now.
For active leaks, we deploy tarps the same day or next day depending on weather and safety conditions. Tarping is a temporary measure to protect the home until permanent repair.
